The ORC unit is a system based on a closed-loop thermodynamic cycle for the generation of electric and thermal power.  The ORC system generates electric and thermal power, exploiting the waste heat from the Greenway wastewater treatment plant in London Ontario. S.E.M. Construction was responsible for renovating two buildings and erecting one building utilizing helical pier deep foundation technology due to poor soil conditions.  Further, the removal of existing thermal fluid reheaters, large overhead duct bridge, process piping, new penetrations thru roof and walls to accommodate the new system was also managed by S.E.M. Once demolition and preparation for the new systems were in place, S.E.M. Construction was able to coordinate the installation of new thermal fluid reheaters, cooling tower, heat exchanger, the ORC and all ancillary equipment related to the ORC system.
