Windermere Manor Café

Project Owner: University of Western Ontario
Project Value: $850,000
Construction Type: Restaurant Addition
Year Completed: 2015
Project Description:
Windermere Cafe has undergone a complete transformation and is now known as Restaurant Ninety One. The renovation commenced on January 2, 2016, and involved the demolition of certain sections of the establishment. As the old walls were replaced, significant improvements were made to address climate control issues that had previously affected guests. The new design not only resolved these concerns but also embodied elegance and sophistication, enhancing the fine dining experience and leaving a lasting impression on visitors. The selection of this project was based on UWO’s Best Value Tender process, which considers more than just the lowest bid. A comprehensive project plan, along with a risk and value assessment, was submitted during the tendering phase. Following a series of interviews, S.E.M. Construction was awarded the contract for the project.
